Giuliani: Money Transfer To Iran Was 'Money Laundering'

The Obama administration's decision to send $400 million in foreign currency equals one thing to former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani: Money laundering.

"I call that trading with the enemy," Giuliani, a former U.S. prosecutor, commented on Fox Business News' "Mornings With Maria" program Thursday. "I call that illegal dealings with Iran . . . if I had someone who put $400 million dollars in a trunk and went over to Europe and converted it into European money, you don't think I wouldn't put that person in jail for money laundering?"

The Justice Department did not object, said Giuliani, and it should not just object but it should investigate the money transfer, which took place on the same day four hostages were being released from Iranian custody.

But that won't happen, he continued, because "we have, as Donald Trump says, a crooked rigged system. Hillary [Clinton] was not indicted and she directly violated federal law."

Also during his appearance on the show, Giuliani said that if he were still a prosecutor, Clinton would have been indicted for her use of a private email server while she was secretary of state.

Further, he complained about her "lying directly" to two Gold Star mothers whose sons were killed in the terror attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

"How come Democrats are not upset about fact she was found grossly negligent, handling national security?" he asked. "How come there are not Democrats on Monday after Clinton's [Chris] Wallace interview, saying, 'We are worried about our candidate. She is one of the biggest liars that ever ran for president?' It would take two hours of your show, for me to list all the lies and would take another two hours to show you all the crimes she committed, if I were U.S. attorney in New York she would be indicted now."

Trump "sort of annoys" some Republicans, continued Giuliani, but that could be because they haven't been through tough campaigns. [They're] all Washington insiders."

But he did agree that it would be best for Trump to start concentrating more on fundamentals rather than the controversial battles that he's gotten into in recent days.

"I think there is no doubt beds everyone agrees on this more he stays on fundamentals more he wins," Giuliani said, pointing out that 70 percent of voters believe the country is heading in the wrong direction and the economy is hurting them.

"Donald Trump can bring jobs, Donald Trump will renegotiate treaties, Donald Trump can put coal miners to work and steelworkers back to work," said the former mayor.
