Former Vice President Joe Biden's campaign wants Rudy Giuliani silenced from TV on Ukraine corruption, and President Donald Trump should, too, because he is damaging, according to Bill O'Reilly on Newsmax TV.
"I think he hurts President Trump when he goes out and engages in this kind of sophomoric debate," O'Reilly told Monday's "The Wayne Allyn Root Show."
"If I were President Trump I would not send Rudy Giuliani out to represent me anymore."
O'Reilly told host Wayne Allyn Root he has known Giuliani for about 35 years, calling the former New York City mayor "a smart guy with an accomplished political record," but "his credibility isn't the best."
O'Reilly released his latest bestseller last week, "The United States of Trump: How the President Really Sees America," which includes an exclusive interview with President Trump and deep research on his life and presidency.
But O'Reilly told Root on Monday he has not spoken with the president "in awhile" and told a mutual friend to give him a message Saturday amid the Ukraine corruption controversy.
"I said, 'can you give the president a message for me? He said, 'sure,'" O'Reilly said. "I said, 'Look, stop with the tweeting. Stop with the Adam Schiff. Stop with all of that. Stop with sending people like Rudy Giuliani out to defend you, and Lindsey Graham, stop.'"
President Trump is still the best messenger to the American people, O'Reilly continued.
"What you need to do is look the American people in the eye – as I am right now with you, Wayne – explain why you made that phone call," he said.
