Former Mayor Rudy Giuliani hailed radio host John Catsimatidis as a "logical" candidate to run as the next mayor of New York City in 2021.

"You would do a really good job as mayor, John – even better than when you ran last time – because you're now deep into the issues that affect the city, by the way" Giuliani told Catsimatidis on his Sunday show "The Cats Roundtable" on 970 AM-N.Y.

Giuliani spoke with Catsimatidis on a number of issues affecting the direction of the city under current Mayor Bill de Blasio, including rising crime rates, policing restrictions, and diversity.

Giuliani pointed to former Mayor Mike Bloomberg's business acumen helping him be an effective leader of the city, which is where Catsimatidis has made his fortune as a billionaire grocery chain magnate in Manhattan.

"You seem like a logical person to me," Giuliani told Catsimatidis. "It's up to you and your wonderful wife."
