A Russian fighter jet fully loaded with missiles under its wings came within 5 feet of an Air Force recon aircraft over the Baltic Sea on Monday, Fox News reported.
The Russian pilot of the Su-27 was provocative and flying erratically alongside the U.S. RC-135, Fox News reported.
There have been 35 interactions between U.S. and Russian aircraft and warships in the Baltic since June 2, Fox News reported, but this encounter was considered "unsafe" by the U.S. military.
The incident comes a day after Russia warned it would consider as targets any U.S. aircraft flying west of the Euphrates River in Syria after the U.S. downed a Syrian fighter jet over the weekend.
