Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates has been invited to testify before the House Intelligence Committee about Russia, Politico reports.
Yates will testify along with former CIA director John Brennan and former director of national intelligence, James Clapper, sometime after May 2. The three were set to testify in March, but the committee's chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., called it off after concerns from the Trump administration.
The ranking Democrat on the panel, Rep. Adam Schiff, also of California, said in March that the canceled hearing would've "provided the opportunity for former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates to testify about the events leading up to former National Security Advisor [Michael] Flynn's firing, including his attempts to cover up his secret conversations with the Russian Ambassador."
On Friday, Schiff praised the announcement in a tweet, saying the committee is "back on track."
President Donald Trump fired Yates in January, after she refused to follow his executive order on immigration.
