Bail was set at $15,000 for Sam Brinton during a Wednesday court appearance in Las Vegas, 8NewsNow reported.

Brinton, who identifies as nonbinary and is a former Department of Energy (DOE) official, is accused of stealing luggage at Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas and faces a felony grand larceny charge.

The DOE issued a statement on Monday stating that Brinton no longer was employed at the department.

The bail was agreed on by attorneys representing the Clark County District Attorney’s Office and Brinton.

Brinton's lawyer said that his client would turn himself in following the court appearance.

The arrest report stated that Brinton was caught on camera in July taking luggage that was not his. The woman who reported the luggage missing said that her stolen property was valued at more than $3,670, according to 8NewsNow.

Last month, Brinton was identified as a suspect after a report that he was accused of a similar incident in Minneapolis.
