House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., said, according to The Hill on Tuesday, that he had a nice meeting in Washington, D.C., with "Shark Tank" star Kevin O'Leary, who is seeking to acquire TikTok.
"It's a new era of AMERICAN business growth with President Trump back in the White House! Great meeting with [O'Leary] this morning," Scalise wrote on X.
O'Leary has said he would buy the popular video-sharing app for $20 billion in cash. Currently, TikTok is facing a divest or ban order.
On Monday, President Donald Trump issued an executive order granting the app a 75-day reprieve to allow for a deal to purchase the platform or resolve legal issues banning it.
Scalise announced at the White House Tuesday he would be open to X owner Elon Musk purchasing the platform.
