A Milwaukee whistleblower, who alleged that the investigation into Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker's campaign finances was politically motivated, has been exposed in the press and is facing the end of his career.
Michael Lutz, a former prosecutor in the office of District Attorney John Chisholm and a former police officer, said Chisholm said in a private conversation that his wife Colleen, a teacher's union shop steward, had demonstrated against Walker's union reforms and that she had on several occasions been reduced to tears on the issue,
Legal Newsline reported.
He added that Chisholm demonstrated "hyper-partisan" bias against Walker and, though the two had been personal friends, he "wanted to speak the truth because I don't think it's right the way they are stifling speech."
After the report was published, Lutz's identity was exposed in an article in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel after he was hunted down at his house after dark by a reporter.
The reporter also personally attacked Lutz, accusing him of a troubled past, reports of which are unsubstantiated.
"I have relocated my kids to prevent them from being brought to tears by any more J-S reporters and to protect them from the onslaught that has already begun. All for telling the truth," Lutz said.
"No one in the current DA's office or any practicing attorney in Milwaukee would dare speak up against Chisholm or even mention a suggestion of partisanship. Their [private] practice would be killed in Milwaukee.
"Mine is finished, but I can still rely on my police pension," Lutz said.
