Former NSA contractor turned whistleblower Edward Snowden went on a Twitter rant Thursday, attacking and refuting a House committee report that found him to be a "serial exaggerator and fabricator."
But not a whistleblower, so determined the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
"Snowden and his defenders claim that he is a whistleblower, but he isn't," Intelligence Committee Ranking Member Adam Schiff wrote in a statement. "Most of the material he stole had nothing to do with Americans' privacy, and its compromise has been of great value to America's adversaries and those who mean to do America harm."
That and other findings sent Snowden on a 22-tweet (and counting) tirade against the HPSCI report.
Snowden takes exception to many parts of the report, including the committee's assertion that Snowden "has had, and continues to have, contact with
Russian intelligence services."
Snowden took on the report point by point before offering a summary.
