President Donald Trump ripped into billionaire Democratic donor Tom Steyer, calling him a “weirdo.”
Trump’s comments came in a tweet late Tuesday night.
He wrote: “Weirdo Tom Steyer doesn’t have the ‘guts’ or money to run for President. He’s all talk!”
Trump’s remarks came after Steyer launched ads targeting Reps Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and Mark Meadows, R-N.C. accusing them of lacking “the courage to stand up and defend our democracy,” The Washington Post reported. Jordan and Meadows are two of the president’s staunchest allies, the newspaper noted.
At one point, Steyer was believed to be considering a run for president, but has since concentrated his efforts on removing Trump from office.
Steyer replied to Trump’s comments with his own tweet early Wednesday.
He wrote: “You are the most corrupt president in American history and the American people will hold you accountable. That’s not talk.”
