President-elect Donald Trump's building in New York City has been renamed from "Trump Tower" to "Dump Tower" on Google Maps.
The change was noticed at around 2 p.m. Saturday, according to news reports, and people started tweeting about it then.
Trump has been using the building for meetings with potential cabinet picks, world leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, major media members, and U.S. lawmakers since he was elected Nov. 8.
New York City is reportedly spending more than $1 million per day to protect Trump and his family, and will likely pay more over the course of the year as Trump's wife, Melania, and son Barron are set to stay in the city at least through the end of the 2017 school year.
The surrounding area has turned into quite the circus, with security, supporters and protestors constantly around. The change on Google Maps was made by an unknown person. Trump International Hotel & Tower in Columbus Circle was also renamed Dump International Hotel & Tower.
Prices are falling significantly at Trump Tower, and at least 31 units are for sale or rent at the complex on Fifth Avenue, according to an analysis by The Hollywood Reporter. About 39 percent of sales and rentals have been reduced this year compared with last March, when THR conducted a similar analysis.
It is not the first time a location on Google Maps has been the target of online defacement, BuzzFeed reported.
In May 2015, users on Google Maps were directed to the White House if they searched using a racist phrase.
Earlier that year, Google had announced it would no longer allow public edits to maps after a series of "incident," but described the White House issue as "vandalism," BuzzFeed reported.
