The U.S. decision to abstain on a United Nations Security Council resolution condemning Israel for settlements in the West Bank tops the Simon Wiesenthal Center's list for the 10 worst anti-Semitic/anti-Israel incidents of the year.
"The most stunning 2016 U.N. attack on Israel was facilitated by President Barack Obama when the U.S. abstained on a U.N. Security Council resolution condemning Israel for settlement construction," the Jewish human rights organization wrote in its list.
"It reversed decades-long U.S. policy of vetoing such diplomatic moves against the Jewish State."
The center accused the U.N. of erasing Jewish history by identifying Jerusalem's holiest sites, as "occupied Palestinian territory."
Coming in second place on the center's list were British Labor Party leaders, including Jeremy Corbyn. The center noted Corbyn had previously called Hamas and Hezbollah his "friends."
The center listed France in the third spot for singling out Israel. All Israeli goods produced beyond the nation's 1967 borders must now include the words from "Occupied Areas," the center noted.
Various organizations were ranked in fourth place, including the German Teacher's Union local in Oldenburg for calling for a boycott of Israel.
Coming in as fifth on the list was Richard Spencer, who the Wiesenthal Center called "America's 21st Century Nazi."
"National Policy Institute leader Richard Spencer mused out loud whether Jews were actually people or just 'golem' (an animated creature without human feelings)," the center noted.
The remainder of the list included the Palestinian Authority and Hamas, attacks on Jews in the Netherlands, comments from the Swedish Foreign Minister and chants from around the world at sporting events.
