The implementation of universal healthcare is way behind schedule, and Time columnist Joe Klein blames the president.
President Barack Obama’s Administration has had three years to set up exchanges for small businesses and has failed to do so,
Klein writes. And he’d better not say it’s because of Republicans or having to deal with the economy.
“Nonsense,” says Klein. “Where was the contingency planning?”

If Obama isn’t careful, Klein warns, Republicans might find a more efficient way to run the program. And if they do they might just be running the country, too.
“As a Democrat — as someone who believes in activist government — (Obama) has a vested interest in seeing that federal programs actually work efficiently, Klein writes. “I don’t see much evidence that this is anywhere near the top of his priorities.”
Klein said the failure to implement the healthcare plan is yet another example of “this Administration’s inability to govern.”
Klein points out that small businesses were promised they’d have healthcare exchanges from which to choose medical plans by the time Obamacare was implemented. Now, they’ll have only one choice – for at least the first year.
Small business owners will likely be doubtful of the White House’s promise of the market producing lower costs through competition, Klein writes. And, “That was supposed to be the point of this plan.”
