Donald Trump on Monday called the nation's deadliest mass murder is "an assault on the ability of free people to live their lives, love who they want and express their identity" and renewed his promise to ban  Muslims entering the U.S. for an indeterminate time.

He says he will "suspend immigration from areas of the world where there is a proven history of terrorism" against the U.S. or its allies.

Trump adds, "We have no choice."
