Attorney and political analyst Alan Dershowitz accused Democrats of playing politics by throwing accusations at President Donald Trump in regards to why he fired FBI Director James Comey this week.
"I don't like trying to make crimes out of political disagreements, and that's what's going on here," Dershowitz told host Bill Tucker on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live."

"Whether you like or don't like Donald Trump, the obstruction of justice statute is so elastic, it's so accordion-like that any civil libertarian or a liberal like me should be deeply concerned about expanding it to cover lawful conduct.
"The president lawfully fired Comey whether you agree with him or not. How do you turn that into a crime? By looking into his mind? By trying to explore what his motives were? That's just not the way the criminal justice system should operate."
Dershowitz, the author of "Electile Dysfunction," noted that if Trump appoints a "crony" to lead the FBI who then demands a halt to the investigation into whether the Trump campaign colluded with the Russians, "that would raise serious questions, which is why the ball is really in President Trump's court."
