As Attorney General William Barr's blockbuster interview Thursday might suggest to some another potential change in the Trump administration just ahead, legal expert Alan Dershowitz expects Barr will not resign – and hopes he does not.
"He's going to stay around if he's allowed to operate on his terms," Dershowitz told Newsmax TV's "Greg Kelly Reports."
Barr told ABC News that President Donald Trump should stop tweeting about criminal cases, because the tweets about the Roger Stone sentence "make it impossible for me to do my job."
"He doesn't need the job," Dershowitz told host Greg Kelly of the second go-around for the attorney general, who served under former President George H.W. Bush from 1991-1993. "He's going to stay around as long as he thinks he can perform his function with full integrity and full autonomy."
Barr did make a point to ABC News he is "not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody" and he "cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me."
"I hope he does stay on, because I think he's a man of great integrity," Dershowitz concluded.
