Forget about the lawmakers on Capitol Hill, the gurus of Wall Street and even the Fed — America's economic future will be determined by an ancient prophecy straight out of the Bible.
That's the word from Messianic Rabbi and Pastor Jonathan Cahn, author of
"The Mystery of the Shemitah: The 3,000-Year-Old Mystery That Holds the Secret of America's Future, the World's Future, and Your Future!" published by Frontline.
"The Shemitah is a 3,000-year-old mystery or pattern from the Bible that lies behind everything from the rise and fall of the economy, the rise and fall of the stock market, the rise and fall of nations," Chan said Friday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on

"It's as far as I know the only source that predicted or pinpoints the greatest collapses in Wall Street down to the exact dates. We're in a Shemitah right now and it's just begun."
Cahn, president of Hope of the World Ministries, said the Shemitah goes back to the time of Moses.
"It means the Sabbath year, that's what it speaks about. Every seventh year, there was total rest. They didn't farm, the land rested and it was an economic sensation," Cahn said.
"On the last day of the Shemitah, something very unique takes place and that is that all the financial accounts are wiped clean, all debt is wiped clean, all credits is wiped clean, everything — and this was supposed to be a blessing.
"But as ancient Israel turned away from God, the Shemitah turns from a sign of blessing to a sign or pattern of judgment that deals with a nation that has known God, driven him out of its existence and when it comes on Israel, it comes on 586 B.C., it brings a wipeout."
He said the final day of the Shemitah is the "big wipeout day."
"It's called the Elul 29, that's when the wipeout happens. The question is, could this be in effect today in some way? Could the pattern be there," Cahn said.
"Now we have a nation in America that has been founded on certain foundations and it is rapidly departing from them as ancient Israel did. Could this be? The answer is yes.
"In fact, if you look at the last 40 years of our history, you have five major financial long term collapses … 1973, 1980, 1987, 2000 and 2007. The Shemitah."
And it may go even further than financial predictions, he believes.
"The rise of America is linked to this, even what may be the fall. It pinpoints the times of global cataclysms, world wars, even 9/11," Cahn said.
