The Biden administration includes many officials friendly toward China, according to former presidential adviser Dick Morris on Newsmax TV.
Speaking with "American Agenda" host Heather Childers on Monday, Morris cited people such as President Joe Biden's son Hunter, and Secretary of State Antony Blinken as reason he had no hope "whatsoever" for the new administration to be tough on China.
Federal prosecutors are investigating Hunter Biden's taxes and international business dealings, which allegedly included promoting the interests of a Chinese energy conglomerate to officials in Washington, D.C.
"You have Hunter, you also have Blinken, who, as I said, headed this [Penn Biden Center] that may have well been funded by China," Morris said. "[Jake] Sullivan, the new national security adviser has a long history of being soft on China, and appeasement with China.
"The personnel of this administration is almost the All-Star team of China appeasers."
Morris explained, Americans generally were unified against Russia's threat due to the country's militaristic focus. Attitudes toward China, however, appear to be partisan.
"[China's] attempt to beat the United States is basically to buy it out," Morris said, "and basically to take over so many aspects of American life that generate so much campaign cash to so many politicians that they essentially control our political process."
The former adviser to ex-Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump used the Penn Biden Center as an example of China's attempts to buy influence. The center was established at the University of Pennsylvania in 2017.
"China has increased its donations to the University of Pennsylvania since that center was established from $21 million to $73 million a year," said Morris, who explained Penn does not detail where the money goes.
"It most likely went to the Biden Center and Pennsylvania won't dispute that or confirm that."
