Ben Carson: People 'Overlooking' Trump's Real Views, Language

Voters are "overlooking" Donald Trump's language and true opinions because they are more concerned about having someone in the White House "who can protect us," Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson told Newsmax TV on Thursday.

"They may overlook some of his views on things that are considered conservative or liberal," he told "Newsmax Now" hosts John Bachman and Miranda Khan. "They may overlook his language.

"They may overlook a lot of things that normally would be pertinent, because they say it's more important that we find somebody who can protect us — and they equate wildness and stomping of the feet with being able to protect them.

"It's not what I would use, but everybody's entitled to communicate the way they want to," the retired pediatric neurosurgeon said.

And, "it seems to be working," he added. "Everything he does seems to work.

"You can't really say it's not working if it is."
