Former New York Lt. Gov. Betsy McCaughey says that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's attempt to reach out to everyday people shows that she thinks Americans are stupid.
"When you look at the range of the Republican candidates, who are offering specifics in their announcement statements or even those who haven't announced yet like [New Jersey Gov.] Chris Christie going up to New Hampshire [talking about] reform for Social Security," there's a contrast, McCaughey told John Bachman and Miranda Khan on "Newsmax Now" on
Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

When Clinton launched her campaign on Sunday, she said that she wants to be a champion for
"everyday Americans," and to that end she has launched a road trip from New York to Iowa.
"American's aren't stupid, but Hillary Clinton clearly thinks they are or she wouldn't be offering that kind of pablum to the audience," McCaughey contends.
"Hillary is egging voters on to make history, but in fact, I would encourage voters to remember history, Hillary's history," the New York Republican explained.
"Her health care plan was the perfect example. It was an utter failure and it set back the cause of health reform, her party's cause, for a generation," she said.
"The fact is that Hillary has gotten everywhere she's gotten on her husband's coattails," she added. "She hasn't achieved anything in a policy way."
