Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol should have been booted from the Republican Party over his efforts to recruit a third-party candidate to take on GOP presumptive presidential nominee, Betsy McCaughey tells
Newsmax TV.
"Kamikaze Kristol," as McCaughey called him, will never be able to recruit anyone with any real credibility, the former New York lieutenant governor said Tuesday on "Newsmax Prime."
Kristol has failed in his
efforts to lure a big-name conservative politician, and on Tuesday suggested National Review writer David French might be a good choice.
"The party has chosen a nominee. He won it fair and square," McCaughey said. "Most of us are full of enthusiasm, and even those who aren't understand that running a third-party candidate of any sort will simply hand this election to Hillary Clinton."

Kristol, she said, doesn't have anything important to say, "and he's trying to become important by riding on Donald Trump's coattails."
