Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol tells
Newsmax TV he thinks there is about a 1-in-3 chance he will succeed in finding a third-party presidential candidate to challenge Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Hillary Clinton.
"I'm continuing to look and keep my ears open," Kristol said Monday on "The Steve Malzberg Show." "I think some other people are trying to organize some stuff to make it a little easier for people to get on the ballot. We'll hear about that I think within a week."

People know how to reach him if they are interested, Kristol said, but admitted, "I'm getting swamped with phone calls."
People may be getting resigned to voting for Trump, he said, calling that "unfortunate."
Kristol has been seeking a conservative to challenge the presumptive GOP nominee, but has had no success. Most recently,
National Review writer David French turned down the offer after saying he spent several days in study and prayer.
