Retired Navy SEAL Billy Allmon, who worked closely with the Drug Enforcement Administration in Colombia, tells
Newsmax TV that the recent prostitution scandal is "very dangerous" and is likely linked to the agency's leadership.
"It probably goes up pretty high in the chain of command," Allmon told J.D. Hayworth and Miranda Khan on "America's Forum" on Monday.

"It speaks to a greater problem, it speaks to the leadership of the individuals," said Allmon, author of
"When the Bullet Hits Your Funny Bone: The Essence of a U.S. Navy Seal".
"My gut feeling is it goes a lot higher. It goes higher because when you have somebody in charge, and you lay down the law on how you're supposed to conduct yourself on missions, how people are supposed to conduct themselves on missions — you follow that rule of law," he said.
"If there is no guidance from above and adult supervision, if you will, then you can expect this type of action," he added.
According to a
report from the Justice Department, DEA agents on missions in Colombia allegedly took part in
wild sex parties, which included prostitutes that were funded by local drug cartels. Seven agents say they attended the sex parties, and they were disciplined with two- to 10-day suspensions. The report says the violations were often withheld from those up the chain of command.
"I would hope that these guys get discipline more than just a week to 10 days," Allmon told Newsmax.
"To me it's just incredible that they would conduct themselves in this manner, given the fact of the dangerous missions that they do conduct," he explained.
"They jeopardize all the work that goes into the secrecy of interdicting the drugs, interdicting the funds that go back and forth, identifying personnel," he said.
"They rely on local sources for information, giving them money as well to get that information. They're jeopardizing all their informants," he contends.
In addition, "these prostitutes, they're not stupid. They'll actually get the names, if they're leaving out Blackberries, they'll get the numbers . . . . You can, as a prostitute, have them filmed, blackmail them, have them turn to the cartels' side, and leak information to where raids are going to be conducted," he added.
"It's a very dangerous thing that they've endeavored into."
