Donald Trump is afraid that he is going to lose the Republican nomination race at the convention in Cleveland in July — and one thing that "losers do is they try to pin it on the fault of others," Iowa evangelical leader Bob Vander Plaats told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.

"That's what you're seeing the Trump campaign do right now," Vander Plaats, president and CEO of The Family Leader, told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "Donald Trump's looking at all his options right now.

"Donald Trump wants to be all about winning," added Vander Plaats, who backs rival Ted Cruz. "We've heard him say we're going to win so much you're going to get tired of winning. After New Hampshire, we're going to run the table.

"And now, he's not doing it — and now he's fearful that you go to Cleveland, he may lose. Donald Trump does not want that to be part of his brand that he got beat and he may get dominated in Cleveland."
