Dick Morris, author and adviser to former President Donald Trump, told Newsmax on Monday that the strongest candidates to be the next House speaker are Republican Reps. Byron Donalds of Florida and Pete Sessions of Texas.
"Probably the most MAGA of the candidates is Byron Donald's from [Florida] and Sessions from Texas," Morris told "Rob Schmitt Tonight."
Despite Morris's endorsement for speaker, he conceded that Trump would be the decider as to who is the best representative of the MAGA coalition.
The 221 GOP House members will meet behind closed doors Tuesday morning and immediately commence voting on a candidate to wield the gavel of dethroned Speaker Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.
