Jerusalem Post's Glick: US 'Enabling' Iran to Attack World

The United States is inexplicably allowing Iran to expand its terrorist capabilities, says Caroline Glick, senior contributing editor of The Jerusalem Post and a former adviser to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Iran is the greatest force for instability, terrorism, mayhem, and jihad in the world," Glick said Thursday on "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"Everywhere they're empowered, you have chaos, you have destabilization, you have violence, you have murder.

"Yet, rather than recognize this, the United States is enabling Iran to expand, build an empire in the region and develop global reach."

That includes the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles capable of attacking the U.S., according to Glick.

In addition, Iran's Houthi rebel forces are now entrenched in Yemen.

"Yemen sits a port the Gulf of Aden, which controls the outlet to the sea to the Arabian Sea from the Red Sea … [and] all the maritime traffic from the Persian Gulf," Glick said.

"So they now control all of the oil floats through water from Arabia to the rest of the world and nobody seems to have a problem with that. This is a huge, huge, huge deal and it's a huge strategic setback for the United States and the rest of the world.

"And nobody's talking about it. So we're having a situation where America's most fundamental interest in the world being challenged by Iran and yet the White House is enabling this to happen."

She said that is one reason President Barack Obama is declining to meet with Netanyahu during his upcoming visit to the U.S. to address Congress at the invitation of House Speaker John Boehner.

"The White House was so panicked by the prospect of Prime Minister Netanyahu coming to Washington and speaking to the Congress about the threat that Iran poses to global security, generally, and to U.S. national security, specifically," Glick said.

"He would prove this basic anchor of America's foreign policy, of enabling Iran's expansion of its power and development of nuclear weapons and delivery systems to use worldwide.

"The very notion of having somebody being able to come and speak coherently to both houses of Congress and, through them, to the American people, is very frightening because the only way that they know how to win a debate is to silence the critics, which you see them doing."

Glick called the White House's excuse about why Obama won't meet with Netanyahu — that his visit is too close to Israeli elections — is a "boldfaced lie."
