In an interview on Newsmax's "Saturday Agenda," New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Chris Ager shared insights on the current state of the Republican primary, addressing the potential outcomes for candidates Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis in the upcoming New Hampshire primary.

Ager highlighted the significance of the New Hampshire results for the former South Carolina governor, stating, "If Nikki Haley does not perform well here, I'd say she really would have to reassess her campaign because this is a favorable atmosphere for someone like her." Considering the state's demographics, he emphasized that a victory in New Hampshire would boost Haley's campaign.

Commenting on former President Donald Trump's support, Ager noted, "While President Trump's got a lot of support in the rest of the country, if Nikki Haley did happen to win here, he'll continue on."

Ager expressed that DeSantis has set lower expectations for New Hampshire, noting the Florida governor may be looking ahead to South Carolina.

Ager outlined a campaign timeline for Haley, saying, "At the outset, I'd say Super Tuesday will probably be the end of this campaign unless something really shocking happens." He said he does not see such a scenario, despite acknowledging the possibility of unforeseen events.

Addressing potential sampling biases in polls, Ager remarked, "It's a possibility that Trump voters are oversampled because they are so passionate." He suggested that Trump supporters may be more vocal in expressing their preferences to pollsters. Ager also raised the prospect of Haley overperforming with independents, which could impact the final results.

As the New Hampshire primary approaches, Ager desires an unpredictable election night. He noted Trump's lead but remained cautious, saying, "I kind of keep an eye out for a possible Haley surge and Trump oversample. Otherwise, the polls do seem to be reflecting what I'm seeing in the state."

Shifting the focus to the key issues dominating the primary, Ager highlighted the surprising prominence of concerns about the southern border. He explained, "Similarly to Iowa, the southern border and the lack of security are potentially the top issues on people's minds." Ager attributed this to the impact of Fentanyl and overdoses, affecting many families in the state.

The second major concern mentioned by Ager was the economy, with inflation hitting hard in New Hampshire. He specifically pointed out the rising fuel prices for home heating, noting the shock and expense experienced by residents compared to the previous year.
