While all the buzz about global warming has dominated headlines over recent years, the real issue is global cooling, something that will plague the earth for the next 30 years, author and climatologist John Casey said Friday on
Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”
“It's going to be dangerously cold, as certainly as it was in 1793-1830,” Casey said. “Right after the formation of our country, we had a disastrous cold climate on the planet and it's coming back around.”

There have been 18 years
without any global warming, he said, and it has been 11 years since the oceans began to cool, with the atmosphere following suit.
Casey has written a book on the subject titled
“Dark Winter: How the Sun Is Causing a 30-Year Cold Spell”.
He also discussed the phenomenon of solar hibernation, a term coined to properly explain what's happening with the sun.
“Every 206 years, the sun cuts back on the energy by which it warms the earth. As a result, we get colder,” he said. “That is the normal peak of the 11-year solar cycle. This peak, according to NASA, is the weakest peak in 100 years. What that means is even though we're passing through an 11-years solar cycle peak, it is very weak indeed. We still get flares that come off during these peak periods.”
The last four of six winters is a taste of what’s to come, according to Casey.
“In the next 15 years, we'll see a dramatic drop in global temperatures beginning next year or the following year,” he said. “We're at the precipice.”
