Rep. Dan Meuser, R-Pa., appearing on Newsmax on Tuesday, slammed President Joe Biden for the delay in shooting down a Chinese spy balloon last week.
"Here we have this Chinese balloon issue, another clear mistake when it comes to our overall national security," Meuser said on "Wake Up America." "Another bungling of our national security needs to allow something like that to occur.
"We're the super-power of the world, and China just feels it can send a spy balloon floating over our entire nation."
Asked if the U.S. looks stronger or weaker as a result of Biden's handling of the balloon, Meuser said: "Clearly, clearly weaker. This thing went over Alaska. Alaska is part of the United States. It's a huge territory. It should have been dealt with then. It was hidden. We really didn't hear anything from President Biden until it was just all over the news.
"And then there were delays. He did not speak to the leadership of the House or the Senate or the American people. And then he decided to shoot it down after it received all the information that it needed to. This was an outrage. This was a mistake. And once again we're seeing gaslighting in its worst form on this issue and every issue."
Meuser predicted that Tuesday night's State of the Union address will likely be a Biden "fairy tale."
"His view of things is a lot different than the view of my constituents and, as we see from polls, the vast majority of Americans," Meuser said.
Meuser said Biden gets failing grades on his handling of energy, crime, economy, Afghanistan, the southern border, and inflation.
"We've got two years before the 2024 election," he said. "I'm not worrying about politics. It's time to govern. Let's see them [Biden officials] show some tact – some willingness to change course, and do what's right and truly be a unifier."
