Donald Trump will likely survive his controversial claim that President George W. Bush was to blame for the World Trade Center attacks, veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells
Newsmax TV.
"One would expect that he would pay a political price for attacking George W. Bush over 9/11," Morris said Monday to J.D. Hayworth on "Newsmax Prime."
"You can attack Bush over Iraq or over the economy or stuff like that, but to hit him on 9/11 is to go after his absolute strongest suit."

During Saturday’s GOP presidential debate, Trump, the Republican frontrunner, repeatedly ripped former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s assertion that his brother kept the nation safe in the wake of the terror attacks, saying they had occurred under George W. Bush’s watch.
Still, Morris, a Newsmax contributor and former advisor to President Bill Clinton, doesn’t believe Trump caused any damage to his campaign.
"Trump has survived everything in the past. The polling that I've seen suggests that on the one hand people feel he lost the debate. On the other hand, his support hasn't decreased which is sort of the ultimate statement of solidity because 'I don't care what he did in the debate, I'm still voting for him,"' Morris said.
"The question is, is he right when he said he could shoot somebody in the middle of Broadway and still get elected?"
