Monday's
Supreme Court decision striking down a Texas law requiring abortion doctors to have hospital admitting privileges will end up helping Donald Trump's presidential campaign and conservatives in general, political analyst Dick Morris tells

"On the one hand, it gives conservatives a goal to shoot for," Morris told "The Hard Line" host Ed Berliner. "It tells them that unless they add another two or three judges to the court, at least two, they're going to continue to lose the Roe v. Wade issue."

That, combined with last week's ruling striking down President Barack Obama's executive order on immigration, keeps Trump's and conservatives' issue front-and-center, he said.
But the 5-3 abortion decision also is encouraging to liberals, Morris said, because it tells them that the abortion issue is not hanging by a thread and that they have a comfortable majority.
Still, Trump should not focus on abortion, he said. The country is slightly more pro-life than pro-choice, but those who are pro-choice are more adamantly so, Morris said. Immigration should, instead, remain Trump's focus, he said.

On other issues, Morris said:
- The high court's decision reversing the bribery conviction of former Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell was important because no standard of quid-pro-quo was provided by prosecutors. "Is staying in the Lincoln bedroom in return for contributions a crime? Then Clinton and Obama would both be in jail."
- It would be "risky" for Democratic presumptive presidential nominee to put Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren on her ticket because it might alienate male voters without college educations. " That is the swing group in our politics. By putting two women on the ticket it kind of types it as men need not apply."
- There really isn't a large anti-Donald Trump contingency in the GOP, and the portrayal that there is a media fabrication. " I think the media is trying to make him into some sort of latter-day Barry Goldwater or a George McGovern."
