Despite a rocky start in New York City, Sen. Ted Cruz should be able to make up some ground by going after New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, veteran political analyst Dick Morris tells
Newsmax TV.
"The repressed anger of the Republican voters in New York is about how he's even running the city into the ground. [There are] homeless people taking over Grand Central Station," Morris said Thursday to Ed Berliner on "The Hard Line."

A powwow between Cruz and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who once ran for the Republican presidential nomination, may also help, Morris believes.
But only up to a point because of the number of negative media reports reminding voters about Cruz's disdain for what he's called
"New York values" — the city's liberal attitudes towards same-sex marriage and other hot button issues.
"This 'New York values' thing is being basically the hobby horse of The Daily News," Morris said, referring to the New York tabloid's insulting headline about protesters Cruz encountered when he visited The Bronx, reading,
"TAKE THE F U Train, Ted!"
"These tabloids in New York — the News and the [New York] Post, can have an enormous impact on the election and Cruz had better start getting on the right side of things."
