Political commentator Dick Morris said Donald Trump could take a page from Tony Blair's book for the remainder of his presidential campaign.
The former British prime minister once attacked his own party and eventually got support from all sides, Morris told Newsmax TV host J.D. Hayworth on Wednesday's "Newsmax Prime."
"I wrote a book years ago called 'Power Plays' and it tested different strategies to achieving power," Morris said. "One of the people it profiled was Tony Blair, the British prime minister, and he achieved power not by attacking the conservatives, the other party, but by attacking his own party, the Labor Party, saying it was too run by unions, too far to the left.
"By reforming his own party he got the trust of the voters of the other parties as well as of his own. Trump could pull that off, he could go from being an anti-Hillary, anti-Democrat to an anti-politician, anti-establishment. The issue usually is does he have the guts to do it? Trump does."

Trump lashed out at House Speaker Paul Ryan this week after Ryan said he would no longer publicly support Trump. The move came just days after Trump's 2005 sexually suggestive comments became public.
Morris said Trump should turn his focus on criticizing Ryan, and then tell the American people, "I don't want that kind of support, I don't want that kind of a guy in my corner."
Morris is the co-author of The New York Times best-selling book, "Armageddon: How Trump Can Beat Hillary."
The book, which has spent months on the New York Times and Amazon bestseller lists, is written with Eileen McGann and published by Humanix.
