The victory of Republican Karen Handel over Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia's special congressional race is proof "the Trump effect, if anything, is working on behalf of the Republicans not in opposition to it," former Rep. Tom Tancredo, R-Colo., told Newsmax TV on Wednesday.
"You know what this tells us . . . The Democrat Party, at least their policies, they might not be sustainable," Tancredo told host Bill Tucker on Wednesday's "America Talks Live."
"They can't sustain this kind of policy agenda that they put forward . . . What is absolutely apparent to everybody and that is [President Donald] Trump won this election as well as this young lady."

But Tancredo, a 2008 Republican presidential candidate, believes the mainstream media underplayed Handel's victory.
"It was no joy in Mudville last night for the cable news, for the pop culture," Tancredo told Tucker. "It was all pretty much an incredible downer."
