Veteran: Iraqi Army Losing Ground to 'Thugs in Flip-Flops'

Though the Islamic State (ISIS) is reportedly just 8 miles from Baghdad, the Iraqi army is likely not poised to do much, according to Iraq and Afghanistan war veteran Scott Neil, who appeared Tuesday on Newsmax TV's “America’s Forum.”

“It's very unfortunate,” Neil said. “Especially all the training we went into not only just giving them equipment and how to be an effective force, but the leadership training and the mentoring, general to general, colonel to colonel, and to watch that evaporate by a force that is basically a bunch of thugs in flip-flops is very disheartening.”
