The nation's airports are at risk for incidents similar to the Russian plane crash on Saturday because many of the contractors they hire have not fully vetted their own workers, former CIA Director James Woolsey told
Newsmax TV on Friday.
Woolsey told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth that at as many as 15 airports, companies are being allowed "to bid on the contracts for custodial [services] and a range of labor undertakings."

The firms "bid in such a way that workers who have not been vetted and just have a regular work visa the way an agricultural laborer would, are permitted to work in and around the aircraft," he said.
"Some of them get marked up with Arabic writing on the fuselage — and that creates a situation where people can put things in airplanes at a time that they find opportune, like say a bomb.
"We've got a serious problem at those 13 or 14 airports, and maybe there will be more that are letting their contractors hire people who are not vetted," Woolsey said.
