Corsi to Newsmax TV: 'Constantly' Threatened With Jail During Mueller Probe Questioning

Writer Jerome Corsi told Newsmax TV on Wednesday he was “constantly” threatened with jail time by prosecutors for special counsel Robert Mueller — especially when “they realized I wasn’t going to give them what they wanted.”

In fiery remarks on "America Talks Live" about Mueller’s probe — and his rejection of a plea deal — Corsi said he knew “it was going to be very hard for anyone to believe” he didn’t have a source who told him beforehand about Russian hacking of Democratic Party emails. He insisted he figured it out for himself.

“I think that they decided that no matter how much they threatened me, which they did constantly… [that] they could lock me up and take me away… but finally at the end of this thing, they realized I wasn’t going to give them what they wanted,” he said.

He charged the tactics were unconscionable.

“That’s why I’m angry,” he said. “They’re forcing me to lie to stay out of prison… I’m not asking Donald Trump for a pardon…. I know they’re going to put me in jail… and I say ‘bring it on.’ … I won’t lie, I won’t do it.”

At the end of his questioning, Corsi said investigators told him “‘everything you told us is worthless.’”

He said that he then asked his own lawyer, “Am I going to prison?” and that the attorney responded bluntly: “Not today.”

The plea deal he rejected, he said, “was supposed to be secret, nothing written down… I wasn’t allowed to discuss it.”

“I only had a few days to decide this… [that] I’m going to swear to God.. that I knowingly and wittingly provided information that I knew to be false…with the intention of deceiving them,” he said. “In my heart I knew that was not true.”

Corsi said he plans to file a criminal complaint against the Department of Justice and Mueller, charging “they are political criminals running the Justice Department.”
