The fact that there are no victims in the civil fraud trial about Donald Trump's New York business, but that the case was still brought anyway, shows how much Democrats throughout government will do anything they can to prevent a Republican from being elected to the White House, Florida Chief Financial Officer Jimmy Patronis told Newsmax on Wednesday.
"We just got to get through our skulls that whether it is [President Joe] Biden or a weaponized Department of Justice, or these politically active prosecutors, they're just not going to let a Republican get into the White House," Patronis told Newsmax's "Newsline."
He reiterated that "I'm fighting this, and this why I want to keep fighting, and this is why we have to continue to do whatever possible to push back," adding that he is "disgusted at what is happening in New York. I know there are good people in New York, but these are nasty people... it is sad that the people were duped into electing them."
Patronis emphasized that this is also a reason why he is working on legislation in Florida for a legal defense fund in order to help Trump win the presidential election.
"I've got legislators that have already agreed to sponsor the legislation, where we would create a fund in order to push back," he said.
Patronis explained that "if there is a candidate for president of the United States that comes from the state of Florida and they are conveniently politically prosecuted during the time of their campaign, then these are dollars that can be used to either reimburse, rebate, or push back."
He stressed that "taxpayer dollars are used on January 6 show trials. Taxpayer dollars were used on Russiagate, so this is no different. We are just creating a resource to make sure that the true champion of the American people has a chance to serve in the White House and it is not being taken down, when there is no victim, by individuals that have a political agenda from deep blue parts of the country."
