Weather Expert Bastardi: Climate Change Is Normal

Wednesday, 07 May 2014 07:01 PM EDT ET

Veteran weather forecaster Joe Bastardi is not impressed with the National Climate Assessment report that says global warming has put the planet on a course of "damage and danger" with wildly changing weather patterns.

"Who can possibly deny that the climate changes? It goes back and forth, in natural cycles," Bastardi, chief forecaster for WeatherBELL Analytics, told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

He said Wednesday that the report helps fuel the beliefs of those who buy into the notion of global warming.

Story continues below video.

But Bastardi said there is one statement the report makes with which he agrees 100 percent.

"That in all probability, looking at everything that's going on, the climate will continue to progress and change for the next 100 and 200 years," he said.

"That's a brilliant statement since it's been changing since the Earth evolved. That was almost unbelievable. I'm like, duh."
