Victoria Toensing and Joe diGenova told Newsmax on Monday that the conduct of Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis was outrageous, will shock the court, and should result in their case against former President Donald Trump being thrown out.

In noting her experience in prosecuting federal drug crimes, the former deputy assistant DA offered an analogy where a DEA agent would violate the rights of a defendant. "I look at this case the same way. It should shock the conscious of the court, their behavior, and the case should be thrown out, " Toensing told "The Chris Salcedo Show" on Monday.

Joe diGenova, Toensing's husband and a former U.S. attorney in Washington, D.C., agreed adding Willis' conduct was "absolutely outrageous." He continued, noting there will be "bad news" for the Fulton County DA in the coming days.

"A Georgia state senator named Greg Dolezal has introduced a resolution to establish a special Senate committee in the Georgia state Senate to investigate her and the entire investigating team," diGenova added.

"So, she's got worse things coming her way than the courthouse."

Willis and chief prosecutor Nathan Wade are accused of not only a romantic relationship but also a litany of other ethics violations. These included using funds paid by the county to take luxury vacations and having Wade appointed to the Trump case despite having little prosecutorial experience.

Willis indicted Trump in August on 13 charges. In total, Trump faces a maximum of 76.5 years in state prison if convicted.
