Katrina Pierson: Trump-Kelly Feud 'More Nonsense' From Media

A report that White House chief of staff John Kelly is on "borrowed time" and being "frozen out" by President Donald Trump is "more nonsense" from the press to "avoid reporting on the real issues," Katrina Pierson, former national spokesperson for Trump's 2016 presidential campaign, told Newsmax TV on Friday.

"I think any one in any administration is on borrowed time because these are not jobs you have lifelong terms in. So, the media can report for six to 10 months that somebody is leaving, and after a year or so, they might leave and that's exactly what's happening here," Pierson said to Miranda Khan on Newsmax's "America Talks Live."

"Even with [former national security adviser H.R.] McMaster, there was talk of him leaving since the day that he was even brought into the administration. So, this is the media just constantly focusing on the people in the administration, constantly focusing on the palace intrigue.

"It's just more nonsense only to avoid reporting on the real issues, like the jobs report that came out today. It's a true disservice to Americans when you have an administration that is doing things differently, to put Americans first, and all people are focusing on is who's working and who isn't."

In a story headlined, "Tired of being told no,' Trump freezes out chief of staff," The Associated Press reported that White House staffers and Trump allies believe that Kelly "is working on borrowed time."

"I think this is truly sad … We have lost a lot here in the media, just to avoid talking about what's really important to Americans going to work every day," said Pierson, who now works for America First Action, a pro-Trump PAC, and is a senior adviser to the Trump 2020 campaign.
