President Donald Trump needs new private lawyers for the Russia probe — "somebody who is not part of this establishment" — and he should not agree to an interview with special counsel Robert Mueller, Freedom Watch founder Larry Klayman told Newsmax TV on Tuesday.
"He should not be interviewed at all," Klayman, a former federal prosecutor, told "Newsmax Now" guest host Kristen Haglund. "Mueller, obviously, wants to catch him in a perjury trap.
"Even if he claims executive privilege on some questions, he's going to have to answer other questions.
"When you walk into something like that, either you are prepared to fully cooperate or not walk in at all.
"It's a big mistake."

Klayman also said Trump's present legal team, Ty Cobb and Jay Sekulow, were "not the right lawyers for the job."
Sekulow, 61, chief counsel for the American Center for Law and Justice, is "not a criminal defense lawyer," he told Haglund. "He's not suited for this task."
Cobb, 77, is a Democrat and "a member of the establishment.
"He's kind of slowing down, for lack of a better word," said Klayman, who is 66.
Trump needs "someone who will go the distance and someone who should challenge Mueller."
However, the president really should working through the federal courts "to have Mueller's authority cut off," Klayman said.
"He's far exceeded his mandate given to him by an Obama holdover," Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.
"That's what should be done right now: Cut the whole investigation off."
