The race for the Republican presidential nomination in Iowa will "boil down" to Donald Trump and Ted Cruz — with the Texas senator most likely winning the caucuses next month, pollster Matt Towery told

"They're all attacking Cruz," he told "Newsmax Prime" host J.D. Hayworth. "They're all attacking other candidates, but no one wants to take on Donald Trump.

"So, Trump is just sort of floating out there, sort of in the middle of things, trying to figure out a way to lure his folks out to vote for him.
"I still think Cruz is the favorite to win," Towery said.
In sizing up the rest of the field heading into the Feb. 1 caucuses, Towery said that Marco Rubio "needs to come in third.
"If Jeb Bush can come in third, it would be a miracle for him. I think his campaign is on life support, if he doesn't.
"Rubio would like to come in at least third, so he can then jump-start and maybe have a shot in South Carolina as the lone establishment candidate left standing," he said.
