Hillary Clinton Thursday quoted a line from a Ronald Reagan speech from 1982 because she wanted to "reach out to a lot of disenfranchised Republicans who are worried about Donald Trump becoming president of the United States," political commentator Michael Reagan told Newsmax TV.
Clinton said "America is great because America is good" in her nomination acceptance speech at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.
She did not attribute the words to President Reagan, noted host J.D. Hayworth on the "Newsmax TV DNC Convention Special."

"She was trying to reel them in," Michael Reagan said, "and she was trying to reel other groups in other parts of her speech during the course of the evening.
"It was aimed at Republicans: Give them something they recognize — Reaganesque-type moments — and that was the only point of her speech.
"She delivered it well. She looked good," said the eldest son of the nation's 40th president.
"It was all about USA.
"She was selling herself of the United States, at least to the Democrats who were watching the speech, but that portion was meant to strictly reach out to disenfranchised Republicans to try to get them to either stay home on Election Day or come and vote for Hillary."
