Michael Reagan: Dems Will 'Say Everything Known to Mankind' About Gorsuch

President Donald Trump's high court nominee, Judge Neil Gorsuch, faces a bitter battle for confirmation from Democrats who'll "say everything known to mankind" to disparage him, political commentator Michael Raegan predicted Tuesday night.

In an interview on Newsmax TV's "Newsmax Prime" with host J.D. Hayworth, the son of the late President Ronald Reagan said conservatives "are happy right now" with the choice of religious rights-defender Gorsuch as a justice on the Supreme Court.

"Now the battle is going to begin and it's going to begin in the Senate… or even before it even gets to the Senate," he said. "You're going to hear the naysayers from the Democrat side say everything known to mankind about this man – he'll be a bigot, he'll be a misogynist, he'll be anti-black, he'll be anti-Hispanic, he'll be anti-Muslim by the time he sits down for his first interview with a member of Congress."

"That's really where politics has gone and that's what's really sad about politics," Reagan said.

Reagan also cautioned Gorsuch should not be judged by his mother's stint as President Reagan's EPA chief; Anne Gorsuch was administrator of the EPA from 1981 to 1983, and made controversial decisions to scale back the agency.

"He should not be painted at all with what went on with his mother," he said, but added: "That's not going to stop [Democratic New York Sen. Charles] Schumer and the boys from getting out their towels and crying in concert that is going to be the worst thing ever known to mankind to come to the Supreme Court of our land."
