Georgia pollster Matt Towery says that the Senate race in the Peach State between Democrat Michelle Nunn and Republican David Perdue is likely headed for a runoff.
"Georgia has a unique situation in that you have to win by 50 percent of the vote plus one vote," Towery told J.D. Hayworth on "America's Forum" on
Newsmax TV Monday.

"Because Libertarians generally take a bite out of the ballot in most of these seats where this occurs — somewhere between 3 and 5 percent . . . that can oftentimes cause a runoff if you have the other two candidates running a tight race," he explained.
"Right now it's a very tight race. Ms. Nunn is slightly ahead of Mr. Perdue in the latest polls, but if you look at the Real Clear Politics average, they're basically dead even with each other," he said.
"This race probably is headed to a runoff, unless some incredible thing happens in the last two weeks," he added.
The CEO and publisher of InsiderAdvantageGeorgia says that right now there's "a big push to get the female vote out."
"They're trying to get that female vote to turn," Towery explained.
"Usually, it's independent and oftentimes it's been going Republican, in recent years, in these southern states, but now we're seeing some of that female vote beginning to come back to the Democratic Party," he contends.
"That's what the battle is right now," he said. "That's where the war is actually being waged."
According to the conservative pollster, the voter turnout of the different voting blocs will either make or break North Carolina Sen. Kay Hagan, Democrat, who is trying to keep her seat from her Republican challenger, Rep. Thom Tillis.

"When you look at these last polls, you're going to see in states like North Carolina, it's a big issue as to what percentage the pollsters give to the 18-to 29-year-old crowd," Towery explained.
"If they are overstating that number, then that means the Democrats look stronger than they are," he said. "But if younger voters and female voters turn out in a large enough number, then Camp Kay Hagen can get a pass again, and she could be re-elected."
"It will be the most expensive" race in the country, he added. "Which you would never have guessed North Carolina would end up being that way."
"Even though the Koch brothers put in a lot of money in this last week or so for Tillis, it still won't be enough to equal what Kay Hagen's getting from folks on the West Coast and other places around the country," Towery told Newsmax.
"The national Democratic Party has done a better job of mobilizing money and mobilizing their [donor base] than the Republicans have," he explained.
He predicts that "if the Republicans can't do it this time, it's going to make it really tough in the presidential election just two years from now."
