Moderate Muslim Dr. Zuhdi Jasser is calling the Million Muslim March scheduled for the 12th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks a "circus."
"If they were truly patriotic Americans and moderate, they would be marching on the courthouse steps of the Ft. Hood trial this week saying, 'We want the death penalty for Nidal Hasan,' rather than this circus of exploiting the murders and horrific acts of 9/11," Jasser, founder and president of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, said on "Fox & Friends" Friday.
"These guys are problematic, and they're trying to exploit 9/11."
"They're basically a bunch of truthers who think that America is to blame for everything — that America is responsible for everything. They thought that 9/11 was a conspiracy theory," he added, referring to the march planned by the American Political Action Committee to demand social justice for Muslims in the U.S.
Jasser also said moderate Muslims need to start speaking up against the more radical sectors of the Muslim community.
"We need to actually be leading the reform efforts. We need to counter the radical ideas, rather than blaming the countries that gave us freedom," he said.
