The results of Wednesday's controversial election in the Netherlands – pitting a far-right populist against the incumbent Dutch prime minister – will be "significant for all of Europe," says David Horowitz, author of bestselling book "Big Agenda: President Trump's Plan to Save America."
Geert Wilders, an ultra-conservative, anti-Islam populist who heads the Party for Freedom is challenging conservative prime minister, Mark Rutte, leader of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy. So far, exit polls show Rutte's party winning 31 of 150 seats, compared to 19 seats for 3 other parties, including that of Wilders, The Telegraph reported.
Horowitz, a longtime liberal-turned-impassioned conservative and founder of The David Horowitz Freedom Center, told Steve Malzberg on Newsmax TV's "America Talks Live" on Wednesday:
"I think it's significant for all of Europe. I've supported Wilders. In fact, it's reported by The New York Times and lots of the Dutch press that The David Horowitz Freedom Center is the biggest donor to the Wilders campaign.
"We didn't donate to a political campaign. We donated to his legal defense fund because in the Netherlands he's been indicted twice. He's on trial again for things he said, for exercising his free speech.
