New York Assemblywoman Nicole Malliotakis attributes a red wave in New York to voters’ support of law and order.
During a Thursday appearance on Newsmax TV’s “National Report,” Malliotakis said she and several other Republican congressional candidates were able to defeat incumbent Democrats because New Yorkers are “fed up” with “one-party Democratic rule” in the state.
She ousted New York 11th District Democrat Rep. Max Rose.
“People sent a loud and clear message that they want law and order,” she said. “People feel less safe, and they are less safe.”
She pointed out that voters saw how the state’s “disastrous bail law” released 3,000 criminals back onto the streets where they committed 9,000 more crimes.
She said voters sent a “clear and decisive message” that they support the New York Police Department as they have seen crime rates soar in New York City.
“We must work to restore public safety,” she said, noting that murders, shootings, burglaries, and car thefts have all increased significantly in the city.
She also said voters are concerned over their taxes going up and “radical policies” being proposed in blue states that move the country toward socialism.
“Democrats just went way too far to the left,” she said. “People want to take their power back. They are afraid of their freedoms and liberties being stripped.”
