Galen Institute's Turner: Obama Does Not Respect Differing Views

The Obama administration's expansion of gay rights reveals its lack of respect for other viewpoints, according to Grace Marie Turner, president of the Galen Institute.

"It's really astonishing to me that they think of equal rights and equal protection according to what they believe, not what others who may have different views believe," Turner told "The Steve Malzberg Show" on Newsmax TV.

"They've basically said they're not going to enforce the Defense of Marriage Act, that they're not going to enforce religious liberty protection."

She pointed to President Barack Obama's vow at last week's National Prayer Breakfast that his administration will fight to protect religious liberty around the world.

"How about starting at home with the Obamacare mandate for contraception, abortion [and] sterilization on religious organizations and employers with religious beliefs for whom that's a violation," she said.

"So they're very selective about what they believe is equal protection and equal rights, which is not really the definition from the Constitution."
